Woodend Township

Woodlands Getaway is an easy 8 minute walk from the village of Woodend. We have many cafes to choose from, boasting good food and coffee.

The Holgate Brewhouse is worth a visit to taste some of their award winning craft beers and a decent pub meal. The Wine Store also has some interesting wines, ciders and beers on offer.

Those looking for a bit of retail therapy will enjoy the offering. We have a wonderful bookshop “New Leaves”, a well established second-hand bookshop, several boutiques offering homewares and fashion and a couple of vintage wares shops to peruse. Mort and Pestle is a high-end kitchen wares and gift shop. Our village has a relaxed pace, an enjoyable place to potter.

The first Saturday of the month is the Woodend Farmers market a good chance to pick up fresh local produce. There is generally a farmers market on every Saturday in the local area.

The Macedon Ranges has an abundance of talented artisits. Black Anther Gallery showcases these with regular exhibitions. There are many Galleries in the area. Lauriston Press, artist’s studio and gallery (10 minutes up the road) in Piper Street Kyneton exhibits stunning works by Sarah Gabriel and many other talented artists. It is possible to book in for a hands on workshop.

Woodend Hosts the  Winter Arts Festival annually on the June long weekend. Our little town comes alive with performing arts and exhibitions kicking off on Friday night with a spectacular fireworks display.
